Club 300 Bowling and Bar
Commercial | Renovation
Club 300 Bowling and Bar, now iPlay Coffs Harbour, is sited in a longstanding commercial premises in the Coffs Harbour CBD.
Prior to renovation, 74-76 Grafton Street formerly housed Holiday Lanes Bowling, a disused nightclub, food premises, and a commercial tenancy.
g2’s brief was to update the property whilst increasing its amenity and activating the various surrounding public spaces.
g2’s resulting design incorporates a Wine Bar on the ground floor, along with commercial tenancies accessed via a new pedestrian walkway through the building. A new café is designed at the rear of the building opening on to Cox Lane- provides the zone with much needed pedestrian activity and life.
The bowling alley’s brand new fitout incorporates accessible entry via a new lift and upgraded stairs, and accessible amenities. In 2017 this refurbishment received an award for disability inclusion and access.
A future stage for the design of 74-76 Grafton St is to feature a vibrant facade with laser cut aluminium panels, timber elements and a green wall. This will create a modern and engaging façade fronting the highway, and will introduce texture and contemporary interest to Cox Lane.
The design also creates a pedestrian connection with Cox Lane and further to the parking area on Elbow Street. This activation and connection of Cox Lane to the CBD is consistent with the 2030 CBD masterplan.

Testimonial from the owner:
"Our company owns a property in Coffs CBD at Grafton Street and unfortunately as I do not live in Coffs did not know any architects in town. I was introduced to G2 Architects by a mutual friend and must say that it turned to be the best reccomendation I could have had. Ann & Oliver are professional but at the same time caring and involved in ones project to ensure they understand what outcomes are required. Our brief to renovate our overall building including the complete re-fit of the tenpin bowling centre on the 1st floor allowed them to reflect their design ideas and with their vast knowledge of trades in town introduce us to people who could assist in the outcome. We are about to complete the next stage which will bring their total design to reality
I have no hesitation in recommending the guys at G2 Architects to anyone who wants a professional, price sensitive architectural job undertaken and followed through to see the finished project completed"
