The basis for the project at 74-76 Grafton Street is a well known commercial premises in the Coffs Harbour CBD, mainly renowned for the Coffs Harbour attraction- Holiday Lanes Bowling, but also including a disused nightclub, food premises, and a commercial tenancy.
g2’s brief was to update the property whilst increasing its amenity and activating the various surrounding public spaces.
The resulting design incorporates a Wine Bar on the ground floor, along with commercial tenancies accessed via a new pedestrian walkway through the building. A new café is designed at the rear of the building opening on to Cox Lane- providing the zone with much needed pedestrian activity and life. Additionally, the bowling alley has a brand new fitout and accessible entry via a new lift and upgraded stairs.
The building will feature a vibrant façade design with laser cut almuminium panels, timber elements and a green wall. This will create a modern and interesting façade fronting the highway, and introduce texture and contemporary interest to Cox Lane. The design also creates a pedestrian connection with Cox Lane and further to the parking area on Elbow Street; an aim of the 2030 CBD masterplan.
