Educational Space | Internal Refit STEM + Library Building, General Learning Classrooms

This project involved the refurbishment of the existing library for a new STEM and library facility for students, staff and visitors. Improvements to general learning classrooms for the school's increase in student numbers and changing learning environments were also completed.

Our brief was to provide flexible learning and activity spaces that could accommodate group work, quiet zones and specialist hubs for the schools expanding STEM activities.

g2’s design response incorporated elements of the school's Catholic pedagogy and the local Gumbaynggirr Indigenous culture through careful selection of materials, furniture, artwork and spatial planning.

Acoustic, natural daylighting and ventilation improvements were incorporated in the refurbishment works.

Further improvements to the school's facilities are proposed in the future stages of the works.
